warm fleece jacket women's:Mid Layers
Mid layers are highly versatile and usually worn on their own on top of a base layer, but they can be teamed with an outer layer such as a rain jacket or softshell depending on weather conditions. Mid layers are all about insulation – they’ll trap the warm air close to your body, and prevent the cold air from getting in.

Merino Mid Layers
Merino base layers team up well with merino mid layers. For example, if you’ve started off with a merino 150 or 210 layer, a Lancewood or Lacebark Hoody over the top would work well. You could also use a Brunner (mens and womens) or Coleridge Jacket (mens and womens) in the same way. These merino mid layers wouldn’t be worn on bare skin – it’s important to always start with the lightweight base layer for optimum comfort.
When to wear it: 100% Merino is not ideal for high intensity activity. Only use merino for low or medium intensity adventures where you are not generating a lot of moisture in the form of sweat – in winter, damp and sweaty merino layers will cause you to get cold when you stop for a rest. Merino is perfect for stationary or slow paced activities such as watching a sports game, or when you’re heading off on a neighbourhood walk and unlikely to sweat much.
